Molly Rowlands (8DWR) and MacKenzie Cliff (8RFO) represented the school at the Big Bang Science Fair North West on Tuesday 2nd July.
They presented their project on the development of a soap to reduce water usage when washing hands. Both students have been working on and developing this project since the Unilever Bright Sparks Programme starting in November 2018, they have attended two lunchtime sessions and one night after school per week to research and investigate their idea.
At the Big Bang Science Fair, students presented their ideas to scientists and industry experts from a range of companies and competed against other schools from the North West region. They were successful in winning two awards: the Bright Spark Award and Award for Experimentation.
Mrs Elaine Hardwick attended the event with the students, and was extremely impressed with the confidence they demonstrated during their presentation. She added I am immensely proud of the diligence, determination and innovation of Molly and MacKenzie.
